"These organizations are at the core of our com- munities," CEO Ryan Holmes said in a statement. In the Kootenays, Rossland- headquartered Thoughtexchange, a crowdsourcing platform for leaders, has made its service free to all users. "Now more than ever before, leaders need to bring people together and have critical conversations," said chief executive Dave MacLeod. ■ LENDING A HAND Plenty of other businesses have been doing their part to help the community. Langley's Windsor Plywood, for instance, donated 200 N95 masks to Lions Gate Hospital in North Vancouver when it heard that staff needed equipment. Wellness brand Maple Organics has been delivering free organic hand sanitizer to care facilities and isolated seniors across Metro Vancouver. By the end of April, the Surrey-based company had distributed more than 3,000 bottles. ■ WORKERS' COMPENSATION Many organizations, from Vancouver Canucks Sports & Entertainment to Lululemon Athletica, have created programs to pay part-time employ- ees while operations are halted. Vancouver-based clothier Aritzia announced that all of its profits (online, as all stores are closed) during this challenging time will go to the Aritzia Community Relief Fund to support staff and their families. • ON T R E N D IN GOOD COMPANY We put the spotlight on B.C. businesses that are help- ing others cope with the COVID-19 pandemic by Nathan Caddell
