Presented with Simon Fraser University, the annual festival presents provocative arts events featuring some of the finest artists and visionaries from Canada, South Asia and beyond. 5. Simon Fraser Student Society president Enoch Weng speaks to students, alumni and faculty gath- ered together at the Campus Kick- off for SFU's 50th Anniversary. 6. The 50th Anniversary cel- ebrations wouldn't have been complete without the skirl of the world-famous SFU Pipe Band, which greeted morning commuters on Sept. 9 at the intersection of University Drive and Gaglardi Way in Burnaby. 7. SFU alumni walk over the reflecting pond in the interior courtyard of the Academic Quadrangle on their way to the Sept. 9 "Celebrate & Savour" event marking SFU's 50th Anniversary. To mark the occasion of its 50th Anniversary, the SFU community has developed a year- long roster of programs spotlighting SFU's journey from radical campus to engaged university. These range from faculty and departmental initiatives to a rich offering of arts and culture programs to signature celebrations and community partner commemorations.
