Davie Street, with its boutique shops and lively nightlife, forms the cultural hub for the community. And Denman Street is known for its stellar culinary offerings – everything from Japanese izakayas and African steakhouses through to gelato and cupcakes is represented along the strip. The ever-popular English Bay beach, with its sandy stretches and waterfront promenade, makes for a natural people-watching spot. The centre of Vancouver's gay community, the West End certainly celebrates its diversity and welcoming atmosphere – check out the rainbow- coloured crosswalks and bus shelters that are painted pink! DO Stanley Park Seawall Clients can rent a bike or Rollerblades and cruise around the 22-kilometre (13.5-mile) seawall, starting at Stanley Park and continuing around the city. Day at the Beach Visitors love to loll in the sand and soak up the sun – and the sunset – at one of the many sprawling beaches. Pride Week Culminating in one of the world's largest Pride parades, this colourful July festival attracts more than 380,000 people – gay and straight alike. SEE Roedde House Museum This quaint heritage home reflects the daily life of a middle-class, immigrant family at the turn of the 19th century. Honda Celebration of Light The world's largest offshore fireworks competition pits three countries in an explosive battle for best pyrotechnics every July and August. A-maze-ing Laughter This beloved bronzed installation depicts multiple renditions of the artist, Yue Minjun, in a state of hysterical laughter. EAT The Raincity Grill The concept of the 100-mile menu originated at this trendy restaurant that sources ingredients close to home. Cactus Club Overlooking the placid waters of English Bay, this is the ideal venue to languish for hours while enjoying delectable dishes by local celebrity Chef Rob Feenie. The Three Brits Public House This always-buzzing beachfront hangout pays homage to the "Three English Greenhorns" who settled in the West End in the late 1800s.
