A
fter two (very) long years of hiatus, BCBusiness's fabled Top
100 event made its triumphant return on June 22. This year
marked the first that the event took its talents to the ritzy
Vancouver Club, with both rooms packed with people mingling and
networking with one another. The program for the afternoon was also
a Top 100 first, with two different presentations taking place. The first
featured Canada Wide Media chairman and
CEO Peter Legge inter-
viewing legendary businessman Jim Pattison on his illustrious career.
A highlight? When Legge asked Pattison how he motivates employees.
The answer was one word: compensation.
Then,
BCBusiness editor-in-chief Nathan Caddell took the stage
with an esteemed panel featuring four executives from Top 100
companies in Cloverdale Paint
CEO Tim Vogel, Telus vice president,
consumer health Juggy Sihota-Chahil, Translink
CEO Kevin Quinn and
Pacific Blue Cross
CEO John Crawford. The conversation focused on
how those businesses were able to steer through the pandemic, and
how they're planning to move forward past it.
After, moderator and Canada Wide Media president Samantha Legge
gave out sponsor prizes to those lucky enough to get their business cards
drawn. For those that didn't, we're happy to say there's always next year.
