You're weaving and bobbing in a tiny trailer, pulled along by a pint-sized, cheery-faced tractor as rollicking square-dance music blares from overhead speakers. That's just one of many wheel-themed experiences you'll discover at Cars Land, the five-hectare section of Disneyland inspired by the hit 2006 Disney • Pixar movie Cars and opened in 2012. Those baby-tractor rides can be found right at the Cars Land entrance, forming Mater's Junkyard Jamboree, a boisterous attraction named for the film's beloved hillbilly tow-truck character. Land Within a Land If you've never paid a visit to Disneyland before, you might be surprised at its walkable size. You can simply hoof it to everything, from the original Disney theme park (1955) to the Disney Cali- fornia Adventure Park and the Downtown Disney shopping district (both added in 2001) that runs between them. A few days here and the place will feel familiar. In contrast, about five Disney- lands could fit inside the sprawling 10,000-hectare Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida, where you need a shuttle to reach the various parks and lands. cars brought to Life If you're familiar with Cars, it will feel as if Radiator Springs has leapt off the animator's palette and sprung to life. (The plot follows hotshot race car Lightning McQueen, who accidentally winds up in a scrubby little desert town, Radiator Springs, only to learn a few lessons about friendship and family.)
