Penchant for Mozart? Your clients can gussy up and spend an evening at the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra. More partial to dance? The Dance Centre stages year-round productions showcasing all forms of Canadian dance that appeal to classic and contemporary tastes alike. In summer, the masses gravitate to Malkin Bowl in Stanley Park for Theatre Under the Stars – live theatre performed en plein air – and Bard on the Beach, the city's long-running Shakespeare festival that takes place in Kitsilano's Vanier Park against a photo-worthy backdrop of mountains, sea and sky. The Arts Club Theatre Company is another must- see – it's the largest theatre company in Western Canada, showcasing award- winning productions on three stages that include the Stanley Industrial Alliance Stage on Granville Street. And, of course, musical performances from well-known and emerging artists occur throughout the year at venues ranging from grand scale (Rogers Arena and BC Place Stadium) to historic and stylish venues (Commodore Ballroom). And for a distinctly non-mainstream experience, send your clients to the annual PuSh International Performing Arts Festival, which presents genre-bending, multi-disciplined performances from artists around the world. SPORTS BARS Vancouver is packed with loyal sports fans, and there are plenty of opportunities throughout the year for clients to jump on the bandwagon and cheer alongside the locals. During hockey, soccer and football seasons, restaurants and bars across the city fill to capacity with hardy sports enthusiasts – but there are a few go-to hotspots where energy is always sky-high. Clients are guaranteed to catch their sport of choice at Red Card Sports Bar + Eatery, which features 16 TVs and two colossal projectors. Doolin's is an Irish-themed pub where clients can settle in with a pint of Guinness and roar at every goal. And at Charles Bar, clients can take a break from the on-screen action to relax on the patio and take in the always-entertaining sights of Gastown's central plaza. Score! HOTEL LOBBY BARS Hotel lobby bars aren't just for guests anymore – in fact, many in Vancouver have become the destination for a sophisticated night on the town. And don't be fooled by the swanky interiors and gourmet cocktail lists: these venues are favourites among locals and visitors of all stripes, whether mixing and mingling pre-event or sipping cocktails during girls' night. The Lobby Lounge at the Fairmont Pacific Rim is stunning year-round with crystal chandeliers, a street-side terrace and live music most nights, complemented by fresh and esthetically presented dishes from the in-house RawBar. Over at the Moda Hotel, UVA Wine Bar transforms from a daytime espresso bar into an ideal venue for pre- or post-concert performances with its central location on always-buzzing Granville Street. And for those nostalgic for the past, 1927 at the Rosewood Hotel Georgia is reminiscent of an upscale gentlemen's club with old- and new-school cocktails that'll leave diners feeling like Don Draper. The City After Dark From live music and theatre to sports bars and swanky cocktail lounges, there's no end of things to do from one night to the next
