11 WANT TO SEE WHAT VANCOUVER BLOGGERS HAVE TO SAY? insidevancouver.ca ➔ Stanley Park Granville Island Granville Island is a must for culinary adventurers keen to sample the city's artisan products and multicultural influences. The Island's flagship is the bustling Granville Island Public Market – where exotic produce and gourmet ingredients are sold alongside global dishes and local specialties. Clients can take a guided tasting tour of the market's labyrinth of shops and stands with Vancouver Foodie Tours' Granville Island Market Tour, or wander the massive space on their own and pick up fixings for an al fresco picnic – the docks are always lively with visitors enjoying delicious food while buskers lend a festive feel. Outside the market, clients can drop in for a tasting of local brews at Dockside Restaurant, catch a show starring the Vancouver TheatreSports League or browse shop-packed Railspur Alley. Lush Stanley Park is one of Vancouver's most cherished jewels with over 400 hectares (nearly 1,000 acres) of evergreen forests, cricket pitches and beaches. (The world seems to agree: TripAdvisor's 2014 Travellers' Choice Awards named Stanley Park the top urban park in the world.) Your clients can immerse themselves in this massive green space by playing tennis at one of 21 courts, trying their hand at the 18-hole Pitch and Putt, lounging at English Bay beach or exploring 64 kilometres (40 miles) of forested trails. Viewing the totem pole "forest" is a must, and there's no better way to get a historical rundown than by hopping on a Stanley Park Horse-Drawn Tour. For a more comprehensive exploration, Rockwood Adventures Vancouver Coast Rainforest Adventure tour ventures deep into the heart of the park's lush foliage, including a stop at tranquil Beaver Lake. PICTURE- PERFECT KAYAK ADVENTURE Who doesn't love food and the outdoors? Local culinary company Edible Canada offers the best of both with its Gourmet Kayaking Weekends, which combine paddling adventures through the scenic Gulf Islands with luxe picnics made by a private chef. After enjoying full days on the water and locally sourced meals paired with local wines and spirits, guests camp out under the stars on an isolated beach. Hit the Slopes Vancouver's geography and mild temperature make for ideal winter conditions. Situated within 30 minutes' drive of the local mountains, your clients can go from sailboat to summit without batting an eye. Grouse and Cypress mountains feature fully equipped ski resorts that offer night skiing, snowboarding, snow-tubing and more (snowshoe fondue, anyone?). How about a snow-limo or authentic sleigh ride? Grouse and Cypress have you covered there, too. (Check out page 29 for more ideas.) Of course, nothing beats a spot of indulgence after a hard day on the mountain. Your clients can unwind après ski with a luxe treatment at one of Vancouver's many spas, spend the evening at a haute cocktail bar or take in a cultured performance of the Vancouver Opera or Vancouver Symphony Orchestra. TH E LUXE LIFE Don't be fooled by the city's laid-back vibe – Vancouver is a favourite retreat among clients who crave luxury and indulgence. Awe-inducing experiences include Harbour Air's scenic Fly 'n Dine floatplane tour, which journeys over Coal Harbour to placid Horseshoe Bay for an intimate waterfront dinner. Afterward, clients will cruise back to the city in style via limousine. For more ways to live the high life in Vancouver, see page 48.
