Winnipeg's Pantages Playhouse eatre has hosted many of the greatest performers of all time since it opened its doors 100 years ago on February 9, 1914. is Winnipeg theatre was at the heart of the Pantages chain – a circuit of vaudeville theatres owned by Alexander Pantages with locations throughout western Canada and the U.S. – and our local stage had the honour of being the producing centre for the entire chain. Crowds in Los Angeles, San Francisco and Seattle enjoyed shows chosen by our discerning audience, and, based on the list of performers, we obviously had good taste.
