First up, watch more than 500 skaters try to spin, jump and lunge their way to the top at the 2014 Skate Canada Challenge. Held December 4 to 8, 2013, at the Co-operators Centre in Evraz Place, it's the qualifying event in men's, women's, pair and ice dance competitions for the 2014 Canadian Figure Skating Championships. Then, cheer on hundreds more skaters who've laced up for free skate, interpretive, ice dance and synchronized skating competitions at the Skate Canada Adult Figure Skating Championships, March 28-30, 2014 (also at Evraz Place). "This event is especially unique as it embraces the competitive nature of the sport, as well as the adage that skating is for life," says Benoît Lavoie, Skate Canada president. "We are proud to offer adults the chance to stay active in figure skating at any age." Get back on the ice with Skate Canada's AdultSkate program, offering CanSkate, STARSkate, CanPowerSkate and SynchroSkate opportunities. ℹ skatecanada.ca; (to purchase tickets) evrazplace.com (top) Paul Chisson/CP Images, (bottom) ©Skate Canada/Stephan Potopnyk 13-10-18 10:13 AM
