56 | OCTOBER 2019 Lyra Residences Inside offers clean lines and spa- cious common areas and suites with floor plans that optimize space for everyday living with two bedrooms, spa-inspired baths, functional kitch- ens, and open-concept living spaces. "The interiors feature warm contem- porary finishes by award-winning Inside Design Studio of Vancouver," says Cronquist. Inside Design Studio provided buy- ers with two luxurious colour palettes in walnut or champagne, and for Lyra's bathrooms Inside Design chose porcelain tile floors and polished chrome accents to offer a welcoming, home-like serenity. Heron also points out the interior's gypsum and steel stud construction, noting that finishes include engineered hardwood floors, and quartz counter- tops in the kitchens and bathrooms. The kitchens also feature energy-effi- cient stainless steel appliances and residents have the option of choosing between contemporary white oak or walnut engineered wood veneer cabi- netry that features soft or click-closing cabinet doors and soft-closing drawers – helping fuse design and function for chefs and foodies alike. The bathrooms feature walk-in showers with porcelain tile surround and glass enclosures in the en-suite bathrooms, as well as a luxurious soaker tub with porcelain tile sur- round in the main bathroom. Mechanical and electrical services were supplied by Avalon Mechanical Consultants and AES Electrical Engineering, who kept sustainability at the fore. Lyra Residences utilizes energy-effi- cient LED lighting in common areas, which are controlled by motion sensors, and features energy-efficient heating and building envelope systems. All of which helps to achieve the building's Built Green Silver certification, accord- ing to Built Green Canada standards. Security is also top of mind when it comes to Lyra Residences, with person- ally encoded key fobs to permit entry into the building lobby, elevators, and individual floors. There is also acces- sible, secure, and heated storage on the ground floor for residents comfort and peace of mind, and two levels of under- ground parking. "The project team collaboration throughout the project put a focus on the quality of the final product, while being extremely sensitive to the sur- rounding natural ecosystem and neighbourhood," says Heron. Lyra Residences is a true exam- ple of indoor-outdoor living that has been paired with an elegant design and a great location. With nature trails so close, residents can not only take in the beauty of the picturesque sur- roundings of Lyra Residences, but easily participate in an active lifestyle, whether they prefer taking a stroll along the nearby Swan Lake's Loop, cycling over to Lochside Trail, or enjoy- ing the Galloping Goose Trail. Cronquist concludes, "Lyra Residences offers solid concrete con- dominium living among a mature oak forest and some of the best views in Victoria. These spacious homes pro- vide comfort, utility, and beauty." A LOCATION 4027 Rainbow Hill Lane, Victoria, B.C.
