In 2016, derby proceeds ranged from $1,000 to $50,000 per event. Langara Island Lodge's annual "Red Boat Challenge" hit an all- time high this year, raising more than $50,000! The annual fishing trip brings together business leaders who help raise funds for salmon projects. Funds raised by the group are generously matched by Langara Island Lodge. Crowdfunding for Salmon Education Education is a key tool in fostering an ethic of conservation and appreciation for salmon in the next generation of British Columbians. That's why Pacific Salmon Foundation supporters Bill Watterson and Bob Kronbauer decided to launch a crowdfunding campaign selling T-shirts and artwork featuring graphics of spawning salmon designed by Watterson. The campaign raised more than $10,500 in one month, introducing many new supporters to the Foundation's work. To buy your "Salmon Spawner" T-shirt in support of salmon education, contact Susan Taylor at 604.664.7664 or support@psf.ca. u Acknowledging the generous donors and tireless volunteers who help the Pacific Salmon Foundation in its work The Foundation's development officer, Cory Matheson (holding fish), at the Kingfisher Galiano Salmon Classic, which celebrated its third year of raising funds for the Salish Sea Marine Survival Project.
