OCTOBER 2016 | 33 Faucets F Faucets are being designed for ease of use and water efficiency by LAURIE JONES From elegant brushed satin to stylish black colours and units that are totally tubular, design choices for faucets are getting red-carpet ready in 2016. American Standard has just introduced its new- est line of bathroom faucets and accessories: the Townsend collection. Inspired by the architectural design of the Manhattan Bridge in New York, the col- lection has a sense of antiquity with touches of indus- trial detailing. It is available in four distinct finishes, including Legacy Bronze, a brand new finish launching along with the Townsend collection. "We're very excited about the launch of the Townsend collection," says Michael Del Guidice, mar- keting director, Lixil Water Technology. "It's the first time we've deliberately pulled inspiration from an architectural source and we think this strategy has really paid off. Townsend offers everything you need to complete your bathroom redesign, from the delicate robe hook to the complete shower kit." The collection includes a widespread high spout fau- cet, widespread low spout faucet, monoblock faucet and deck mount tub filler. The widespread and monoblock faucets feature Speed Connect installation technology. Known for innovation and design, Kohler is launch- ing both a modern faucet collection as well as a strik- ing faucet finish. The Composed faucet collection by Kohler is a design unencumbered by non-essential flourishes. "The Composed faucet is truly a work of art. Its clean, timeless design and elegant lines add more depth to our contemporary collection," says Donna Church, marketing and communications man- ager, Kohler Canada. "With its minimalist design, the collection includes a versatile range of faucets, acces- sories and showering products perfect for Canadians looking to achieve a modern esthetic; a trend we are noticing is on the rise this year." She adds the collection is available in Polished Chrome as well as Kohler's all new Titanium finish; a cool metallic that provides a unique edge, perfect for any modern interior. The Composed faucet collection is available with a single handle, dual lever handles and dual cross handles. With the growing trend of lavatory basins in var- ious shapes, heights and sizes, Grohe has focused on expanding its lavatory faucet line for its premium collections to offer a broader range of faucets to bet- ter match the sink and provide the best water deliv- ery and comfort. "Collections like Essence, Eurocube and Grandera offer multiple options for both one han- dle and two handle faucets," says Maria Bosco, direc- tor, marketing and training, Grohe Canada. The Grohe Essence faucet is a gentle interpretation of a classic lifestyle with clean, simple designs. The cylindrical form fittings are available in sizes small to extra-large. "By selecting the faucet that best matches the sink, the user will avoid splashing and can comfort- ably wash their hands because the faucet provides the appropriate height and reach," says Bosco. Moen has engineered the new Align pre-rinse spring faucet exclusively for the residential mar- ket, providing a pulldown fixture with a look fit for an industrial kitchen, but with the reach and flexi- bility required for residential use. Its pulldown hose provides extended reach, as well as a multi-function spray wand that is easy to manoeuvre, and a hose that retracts effortlessly and docks securely. "We know Making A Splash Align pre-rinse spring faucet from Moen Inc.; Polished chrome Composed faucet from Kohler Canada. Zura bath collection from Delta Faucet Canada.
