Here are a few striking examples of the difference our donors have made since we opened our doors in 1965. QDr. Jennifer Allen SimonS Dr. Jennifer Allen Simons, an SFU alumna and award- winning nuclear-disarma- ment expert, thought leader and educator, has supported public awareness and com- munity outreach activities on issues of international law and human security. As one of SFU's greatest supporters, she has also funded outstanding women scholars, students and SFU's Centre for Dialogue. R mArilyn AnD StewArt BluSSon Dr. Stewart Blusson and his wife, Marilyn, donated generously to the construction of SFU's Health Sciences building. Their incredible support created a much- needed space for one of Canada's most comprehensive and integrated health science programs. The building was named Blusson Hall in honour of their contribution. fei AnD milton wong W During his time as Chancellor, the late Milton Wong led a capital campaign to bring SFU's School for the Contemporary Arts to the Downtown Eastside. Milton and his wife, Fei, also made a significant gift to the campaign and in their honour the theatre at SFU's Goldcorp Centre for the Arts was named the Fei and Milton Wong Experimental Theatre. leSlie AnD gorDon DiAmonD fAmily E The Diamonds have been loyal supporters of SFU, funding many initiatives including the Friends of Simon Tutoring Program, scholarships for inter- national studies, women's athletics and student support. They are also co-chairs of the Council for 50, helping to raise $250 million in honour of SFU's 50th anniversary. In recognition of their outstanding support, the SFU Convocation Theatre was named the Leslie & Gordon Diamond Family Auditorium. R BeeDie fAmily Alumnus Ryan Beedie, his father, Keith, and their family made a transformational gift to establish SFU's Beedie School of Business. The gift provided an endow- ment to position the Beedie School of Busi- ness as a global thought leader in innovation and entrepreneurship, Asia Pacific business studies, risk management and sustainability. I michAel AuDAin Michael Audain has been a generous supporter of SFU's School for the Contemporary Arts and made a critical donation to facilitate the gift of the Bill Reid Collection to SFU.
