Looking for a chocolate dessert at midnight? They'll send you three different options – and a glass of milk. Luxury also awaits at the newly reopened Hilton Los Cabos Beach & Golf Resort (hiltonloscabos.com), which recently unveiled multimillion-dollar renovations to all of its rooms, bars and restaurants, spa and kids' camp. Geared towards artists and musicians, this sleek design- focused property boasts an in-house recording studio and a host of up-and- coming and well-known artists in residence. This means the cocktails are handcrafted and regularly flowing and you can almost always catch a live show, film screening or art exhibition. If minimalism is more your style, Drift (driftsanjose.com) is the accommodation you seek. A cross between a boutique hotel and a youth hostel, this pared-down yet über-stylish option doesn't offer poolside lounging, but makes up for it with opportunities to mingle with locals and a prime San José location. It's the perfect jumping-off point for Baja adventuring and with rates starting at US$100 a night, it leaves plenty of room in your budget for just that. EAT Mexican food may not be the first cuisine to spring to mind when thinking about nutrition, but Cabo's emerging culinary scene is focused on fresh, organic, sustainable produce. Los Tamarindos (huertalos tamarindos.com), a 17-acre organic farmstead in the foothills of the Sierra de la Laguna Mountains, offers diners intimate farm-to-table dining – as you eat, you'll overlook the land on which your dinner grew while you interact with the chef. Alternatively, take a hands-on approach and try an all-inclusive cooking class here: collect your ingredients from the garden and prepare a complete four-course feast. Either way, hire a car for a safe ride home, as the purple basil margaritas are quite popular. Culinary adventurers seeking a truly authentic (and delicious) dining experience will do well at The Hangman (a.k.a. El Mesón del Ahorcado, at Pescadores and Marinos Street in San José del Cabo) in "Old Town." Placing your order will put your Spanish-speaking skills to the test, but the creative and varied tacos (the beef tongue is something to write home about) are worth the extra effort. PlAY Cabo has excellent surf conditions year round and experienced instructors to get you up riding the waves.
