City, sea
and space
Home to three popular
museums, Vanier Park is
a centre of learning. The
Vancouver Maritime
Museum is an all-access
pass to British Columbia's
diverse sea life, and includes
hands-on activities for kids
in the Children's Maritime
Discovery Centre. The H.R.
MacMillan Space Centre
turns its gaze to the stars,
with astronomy shows in
the planetarium plus live demonstrations on how astronauts
live and work in space. And at the Museum of Vancouver,
the city is the star of the show – unique exhibits showcase
the most colourful parts of Vancouver's history, including a
collection of vintage neon signs!

A WHALE
OF A TIME
The waters off the coast
of Vancouver and
Vancouver Island offer
some of the best whale
watching anywhere.
On a tour with Prince
of Whales Whale
Watching, Steveston
Seabreeze Adventures,
Vancouver Whale
Watch or Wild Whales
Vancouver, you can
expect to see orcas,
dolphins, and grey, minke
and even humpback whales.
MARCH TO OCTOBER:
Grey whales migrate
through the Tofino/Ucluelet
area of Vancouver Island.
The San Juan Islands are
prime territory for spotting
migrating humpback whales.
APRIL TO OCTOBER:
Southern resident orcas
feed on salmon in the
Strait of Georgia and the
Gulf Islands. Small pods of
mammal-eating transient
orcas migrate along the
Pacific coast.
JULY TO SEPTEMBER:
Northern resident orcas feed
in Johnstone Strait.
