In 2009, Cook, president of Belfor Canada, a company that repairs and restores property damage, ran into Gerry Hadwin, father of Adam—a golfer who had just turned pro and was chasing his dream on the Canadian Tour (now PGA Tour Canada). Gerry explained his son's goals and need for cash to fund his golf. A meeting was arranged. "We met Adam and really liked him and what he was trying to do," says Cook.
