50 | A PR IL 2015 Hard Surface Flooring PHOTOGRAPHY COURTESY AMES TILE & STONE LTD.; OLYMPIA TILE Level-Right Maxx, the next generation in self-levellers, is now available from Maxxon Corporation. "Level-Right Maxx is a high strength, Portland cement-based self-levelling underlayment/overlayment designed to level, smooth and repair interior concrete in preparation of floor covering installation," says Nicole Hills, marketing manager. "Installed at a thickness of one-eighth inch by one-and-one- quarter inch, Level-Right Maxx provides a durable, smooth surface compatible with a variety of finished floor goods including tile and stone mortars, flooring adhesives, and epoxy and polyurethane adhesives." Hills says this moisture tolerant self-leveller is an ideal solution for special proj- ects where the underlayment needs to be installed early in the construction pro- cess. Because it is also self-drying, many floor goods can be installed within 24 to 48 hours after the pour. "When sealed with a Maxxon-approved sealer, Level-Right Maxx can also be used as a wear surface, opening a spectrum of concrete-look fin- ished floor possibilities." Two other Maxxon products are the Maxxon DPM (Damp Proof Membrane) and Maxxon MVP (Moisture Vapor Protection) surface applied moisture vapour barri- ers that prevent the passage of water vapour and moisture through slabs on, below or above grade. "Maxxon's moisture mitigation solutions meet the ASTM F3010 requirement," says Hills. "These products reduce moisture vapour emission of up to 25 pounds to three pounds or less and provide a high alkalinity barrier [pH 13 – 14], preventing the delamination of adhesives, floor coverings and coatings."
