Here's a snapshot of how Canada stands on the green front: Number of light bulbs used in the average Canadian home. 41 per cent of households have access to a recycling program. 92 per cent of households participate in composting. 61 per cent of households use compact fluorescent lights (CFLs), which can save about 75 per cent more energy than regular incandescent light bulbs. 76 million tonnes of non-hazardous household waste (33% of total amount) is sent for recycling or composting each year. 4.5 Fools at the Forks.
