48 real weddings planning guide 2015 HOw dO yOu infuse yOuR Own peRsOnaLity into your wedding décor to create a ceremony or reception space that is uniquely yours? It all starts with a little inspiration, finding something that truly speaks to you. For our photo shoot at Science World's spectacular rooftop venue, wedding planner Erin Bishop of Filosophi Events found her inspiration in music — in the self-titled album by Broken Social Scene, one of her favourite bands. Bishop translated the album artwork, a rough crayon drawing of a cityscape, into a bold ceremony space and tablescape using black and white with a solid dose of bright orange and fuchsia. Using a borrowed red vintage guitar as the centrepiece, she added white pillar vases, tall white chairs and boxy white ottomans to mirror the buildings in the album art. The result is vivid and eye-catching, and perfect for the couple who's more than a little bit rock 'n' roll. The bright ceremony space at Science World looks out on the buildings of downtown Vancouver, mirrored in the architectural shapes of the ottomans and vases. The cake echoes the album art and colours in all three tiers. Below right: The table setting continues the modern edgy vibe.
