Classic glass tea light/votive candles can be simply wrapped with salvaged or purchased sheets of natural bark. You can embellish the bark wrap with a wood-engraving tool or ribbon to match your style palette. Or, just leave the bark in its natural state to sparkle unadorned. YOU'LL NEED: For each light, gather thin strips of bark, a glass candle holder, scissors, ribbon or glue gun and a tea light. Optional: a wood-engraving or wood-burning tool, such as the Dremel (see leevalleytools.com). 1. Using a sharp knife, carefully cut and strip sheets of bark from found beach logs (note: do not strip bark from live trees as it will destroy them). Or, you can purchase sheets of bark from fl orists or fl oral supply stores, as well as Etsy. 2. 3. 4. Cut multiple strips of sheet bark, sized to the height of your glass candle holder with extra length to over- lap. Bark collected from branches can also be used to slip over the glass holder with no seam. Engrave hearts, initials or other insignia on the bark using a wood-burning or engraving tool, if desired. Wrap the candle holder in the bark and tie securely with ribbon or string. Alter- natively, you can a x the bark to the glass using a glue gun.
