When you're trying to upend the status quo, he says, it's best not to have any personal attachment to the way things have always been done. Wilson came to the medical field with the same attitude he had when he was building electronic money transfer systems as director of technology for VersaPay Corp.: "Of course this is possible." In 14 months he raised $4 million in venture funding, built a full- time workforce of 30, plus 20 part-time physician advisers, and has built a secure platform enabling thousands of electronic interactions involving both GPs and specialists. His response to resis- tance from the status quo? "Surely if we can move a billion dollars around on an iPhone we can share a medical record securely." —D.G. ■ Ryan Wilson CEO, Medeo Corp.
