bcbusiness.ca 66 BCBusiness april 2014 I t may appear that Rattan Bagga has more jobs than one person could handle, but he's been training for this since he was 16. He says his father impressed upon him the importance of working every role in the family businesses: Jiva Organics, where he is general manager; New World Natural Foods, where he is CEO; and Everland Natural Foods, where he is VP of sales. Under Bagga's leadership, sales at Jiva Organics have grown from $3.7 million in 2009 to $9.3 million in 2013. At New World Natural Foods, Bagga recognized the craze for gluten-free diets and launched Bliss Balls, an organic, vegan, gluten- free chocolate snack that quickly became a household favourite. Bagga is also an advocate for youth in his community. He founded the young entrepreneurs program for The Indus Entrepreneurs Vancouver, which mentors high-school students on the path to becoming entrepre- neurs. He also contributes to the B.C. Children's Hospital Foundation. —K.H. Rattan Bagga CEO, New World Natural Foods Inc. Age: 29 30 UNDER 30 p38-67_30Under30_april.indd 66 14-03-07 2:06 PM
