BEING BAVARIA HOTEL PHOTO COURTESY OF FAIRMONT HOTELS Substitute Whistler for the mountains of Bavaria — why not? We have the perfect alpine setting in mind: the luxurious Fairmont Chateau Whistler (fairmont.com/whistler or 1-800-606-8244). Aubrey: Being one-quarter German, this Bavarian theme is not only very close to my heart, it's my favourite! The key was to think of creating a storybook backdrop. The woodsy centrepiece and soft yellow colours, with touches like moss for greenery, did just that. Sarah: My absolute favourite touch? Black Forest Cake shooters! Bavarian-themed food gives you so much to play with. Why not pass around mini Alsatian baked onion soupspoons or nippy cheddar and Münchner-wurst sampler swords? Sarah: The rooftop at Fairmont Chateau Whistler offers the most incredible backdrop to an alpine wedding that will have you singing "The Hills Are Alive." The chapel is beyond romantic and with a space offering a 360-degree view of the mountains, your guests will be truly transported. I love the whimsy of this wedding, from the ribbon-adorned chairs, to blossom-adorned centrepieces, to steins filled with flowers that look freshly plucked from an alpine meadow. Sarah: The idea is to have your guests immersed in their favourite fairy tales. With our little flower girls prancing around with their floral wreaths and your bridesmaids in Gretel-like dresses, you will definitely be living happily ever after. R E AL WE D D I N G S .
