Located at Hastings Park just outside Vancouver, the Pacific National Exhibition (PNE) features a seasonal amusement park, a variety of private buildings and a horse racetrack, plus dining facilities for up to 350 people. The Pacific Coliseum concert venue can host up to 600 for a reception, or make your headcount unlimited with a full park buyout. gO BIG OR GO HOME Expecting a crowd? No problem. With its state-of-the-art design and audiovisual functionality, Rogers Arena is the venue of choice for celebrity performances. This unique venue converts into various configurations with seating capacities ranging from 5,000 to 20,000; it can also accommodate 1,000 people for dining, or 1,500 for a reception. Jack Poole Plaza At the Vancouver Aquarium Marine Science Centre, groups of up to 350 can enjoy formal dining in the company of beluga whales, or up to 1,200 people can partake in a cocktail reception in a living-art gallery-style setting with tropical fish, reef sharks, and British Columbia–themed exhibits. Once a courthouse, the Vancouver Art Gallery's turn-of-the-century marble walls, columns and steps serve as a backdrop to a renowned collection of 9,000 paintings, photos, sculptures and more by renowned B.C. artists. This upscale venue can accommodate 250 people for dining events, or 500 for a reception. At the UBC Museum of Anthropology, more than 10,000 objects from around the world, soaring outdoor totem poles and spectacular grounds overlooking the ocean make for a unique setting for special events. The museum can accommodate groups of 120 for indoor dining; with tents, it can host as many as 700 for dining or more than 1,000 for a reception. Vancouver Art Gallery MAKE IT A PARTY A stylish Art Deco venue located right downtown, the Commodore Ballroom has a state-of-the-art sound and lighting system and a famous "sprung" dance floor that has been hosting world-famous concerts for more than 75 years. On-site catering services can accommodate up to 600 guests for dining or 900 for a reception. Jack Poole Plaza, adjacent to the Vancouver Convention Centre and home to the city's iconic Olympic Cauldron, can host up to 4,000 for a reception, for which the surrounding mountains, ocean, parks and gardens provide a spectacular "front porch" view. Meanwhile, one of the city's newest and trendiest performance venues combines historic Vancouver architecture with richly ornate New Orleans French Quarter design. Vancouver FanClub in the Entertainment District offers dining for 150 guests and cocktails for up to 300. Or consider BC Place, home to the BC Lions of the Canadian Football League (CFL) and the Vancouver Whitecaps FC of Major League Soccer (MLS). The newly renovated multipurpose stadium boasts the world's largest retractable roof, and can host up to 7,000 for dining, or 12,000 for a reception.
