Grouse mountains, less than half an hour's drive from the city centre – all amid gorgeous alpine terrain and close enough to Vancouver to be back in time for a lateafternoon or early-evening cocktail. Take a swim in the beachside saltwater pool at Second Beach in Stanley Park or try paddle boarding at Spanish Bank in Point Grey. Sea kayaking There's nothing like exploring Vancouver in a kayak – natural wonders, exciting wildlife and breathtaking views are all to be expected. Visitors can take guided tours from Granville Island, English Bay, Jericho Beach and Deep Cove with tour companies like Ecomarine Paddlesport Centres and Lotus Land Tours.
