She was elected locally in North Vancouver and West Vancouver, and served as West Van's mayor from 2005-2011. Most recently, Pam was the MP for West Vancouver Sunshine Coast Sea to Sky Country, and was appointed by the prime minister as parliamentary secretary to the minister of foreign affairs. The shift to becoming a PSF board member seems fitting, as she has long been a voice for salmon on the West Coast. Pamela looks forward to resuming her work as a business consultant to public and private entities, to spending time with her family and to contributing her volunteer time here at home. Pamela Goldsmith-Jones & Peter Lister PSF BOARD MEMBERS WELCOMING TWO HIGHLY QUALIFIED NEW PSF BOARD MEMBERS PETER LISTER Peter Lister, vice president of commercial services for Seaspan, is an avid fisherman who grew up in the Courtenay/Campbell River area. He has been following PSF for years, and has always been drawn to our impressive science-based collaborative work that extends across borders. In his new role as a board member, Peter looks forward to learning more and investing his effort into our Community Salmon Program and the Salish Sea Marine Survival Project. "We were raised to put Pacific salmon first. My dad taught us to understand the creek behind our house and about the peril of culverting creeks in West Vancouver. He read aloud to us from Hubert Evans and Roderick Haig-Brown and took us fishing between the Capilano River and Gabriola Island. The community and all levels of government are grateful and proud of the research and partnership approach PSF takes and I am thrilled to be part of the team!" — Pamela Goldsmith-Jones "THERE ARE NOT MANY FOUNDATIONS THAT BRING EVERYONE TOGETHER TO RALLY TOWARD COMMON GOALS." — PETER LISTER
