Since then, he's been committed to positively impacting the community he has come to call home. Neptune Terminals, one of the largest bulk shipping terminals in North America, has been operating on the North Shore of Vancouver for more than 50 years. The company, like Claus, is proud to support local community initiatives, including the work of North Shore Streamkeepers and the Seymour Salmonid Society. "Environmental protection and continuous improvement are core to who we are as a company, and they're priorities for both our community and employees. In addition to environmental excellence in our operations, we pursue partnerships that help us make a positive impact on local species and environments," says Claus. This year, Neptune Terminals demonstrated its generous support by making a donation to PSF totalling $100,000 over the next four years. Specifically, these funds will be directed to salmon enhancement, habitat rehabilitation, stewardship and public education programs on the North Shore, via PSF's Community Salmon Program (CSP). The photo below shows Claus working alongside the North Shore Streamkeepers' team, one of the many CSP grant recipients doing the heavy lifting on the ground to restore vital salmon-rearing habitat. Claus has always enjoyed the outdoors and is an active hiker, fisherman and wildlife photographer. He and his team at Neptune are committed to maintaining a positive partnership with PSF – one that enhances Pacific salmon populations on the North Shore for the benefit of future generations.
