– these are three of the terms that will guide the Government of the Northwest Territories (GNWT) as we move through this new government and work together to meet our priority to increase resource exploration and development across our territory. In the Northwest Territories, responsible resource development is the largest contributor to our economy and is a sector that our government continues to work hard to see flourish. It has been said time and time again, the potential in the North is immense. But potential is only part of the story. In order to achieve our vision for success in this industry, the GNWT must increase its efforts to ensure that our potential is matched with tangible opportunities for success. Over the course of the 19th Legislative Assembly, the GNWT will continue to work in partnership with people like you - Indigenous partners and industry stakeholders - to ensure the North's world-class resource potential is capitalized on and investment opportunities are seized. As the Minister responsible for the Department of Industry, Tourism and Investment and Department of Infrastructure, it is now my job to champion the North and ensure our potential and investment opportunities are met. I will be a strong advocate and voice for this sector, and a friend to those looking to do business in the North. It's not an easy task, but I am up to the challenge and look forward to working with, and getting to know, readers like you. www.gov.nt.ca Poten al, partnerships and progress "I will be a strong advocate and voice for this sector, and a friend to those looking to do business in the North." Katrina Nokleby, Minister of Industry, Tourism and Investment, Infrastructure and WSCC
