These lively occasions bring together stakeholders and local businesses in celebrating and raising money for community- led salmon eorts. This year, Mosaic, the timberland manager for TimberWest and Island Timberlands, stepped up its commitment for projects on Vancouver Island to address salmon conservation, restoration and enhancement, and as lead sponsor of PSF community fundraising dinners. The company has donated more than $1 million to PSF cumulatively since inception. Our South Vancouver Island Gala Dinner & Auction has grown year-over-year thanks to a volunteer dinner committee that includes many founding members who have been involved since inception 24 years ago! This special group comes from across the industry in Victoria, uniting the breadth of local salmon stakeholders. Not pictured: Dale Robertson. Our Fall Major Donors Circle featured a joint presentation by marine mammal expert Dr. Andrew Trites and PSF science advisor Dr. Brian Riddell. The talk was moderated by Stu McNish of Conversations That Matter. It focused on misinformation surrounding orcas, seals and the Chinook they love to eat.
