reputation of the
mortgage broker channel,
fostering the fundamental
skills of our members
and providing them with
more tools, resources and
educational opportunities
than ever before.
In 2018, we have hosted education and
networking events in Victoria, Nanaimo,
Kelowna, Kamloops and Prince George, with
strong crowds of eager mortgage brokers
coming together to learn and share ideas.
We have also worked closely with MBIBC to
launch the Expert Speaker Series, which sees
experts in legal, policy and technical areas
sharing their knowledge for the benefit of
our community. Finally, CMBA-BC's annual
Conference and Trade Show wrapped up a
hugely successful five-year run at the River
Rock Casino Resort and will now be heading
to the Parq Vancouver, February 25-26, 2019.
Tickets will be going on sale soon and we do
hope that you can join us for what promises
to be the biggest event our association has
ever hosted.
CMBA-BC has also worked diligently to
encourage economic and housing policies
that lower the administrative barriers to home
ownership. Lowering taxes, encouraging
development, investing in communities and
making home ownership more achievable
for working British Columbians is a winning
solution that would drive a robust economy,
yet convincing our provincial and local
governments to take these steps is an uphill
battle. Luckily, we are joined by other
advocates, leaders and associations from across
our province who are working together to
push for changes that will benefit the hugely
important real estate sector and the entire
B.C. economy.
Our membership also benefits from
strength in numbers. Together, we are of a
diverse group of nearly 1,500 individuals,
connected by our common profession, linked
by geography and united in our purpose of
delivering unparalleled mortgage advice to our
clients. Our shared credo continues to ring
true: Your best mortgage advice comes from
a mortgage broker.
