ourteen-year-old Christian Williams was in the midst of
photo shoot with his father's classic show car, a mint 1968
Fastback Mustang – which dad has owned since the age
of 15 and they maintain together – when the car's engine
caught fire. His dad was out of town, but his mom, a
BCAA
Member since 2000, was on hand and called
BCAA for help.
From the moment driver Tony Belmonte arrived on the
scene at
NWSS Secondary School in New Westminster, he set
everyone at ease.
"He was extremely respectful and careful with the car,
treating it as if it were his own," said the family in a glowing
thank-you letter. Tony quickly and carefully loaded the Mustang
onto his truck, planning a safe route back to the family home.
"I still can't get over how talented and precise Mr. Belmonte
was," Christian recalls. The letter sums it up nicely: "Tony's
service, assistance and great nature really made our car trouble
less of a burden – and his involvement made it possible to end
the day on a positive note. Tony is one of those people who truly
make the world a better place." Nice work, Tony!
