Anthony Contento Anthony Contento doesn't measure success by the size of his portfolio, but through team effort. His success comes with the help, passion and integrity of his business partner and agents. Mr. Contento started in the broker industry in January of 2009, having worked for financial institutions for over 20 years. At the age of 16 he started his career in banking as a co-op student at RBC. In 2001, as an RBC Sales Manager, he grew a team of 12 mortgage specialists to 50, taking funded volumes from $180 million to over $1 billion in three short years. Anthony has been nominated for CMA's Top Mortgage Brokerage of the Year (25+) from 2012-2016, an honour that he humbly accepted in 2012 and again in 2014. He continues to grow his team organically, using a grassroots approach that has helped him develop strong relationships with industry partners and peers across the network. His devotion and dedication to mortgage brokering is evident in the success of Sherwood Mortgage Group. He will eagerly channel the same principals to the CMBA – Ontario Board of Directors. Christa Neddow Christa Neddow is a passionate, energetic and results-oriented member of the Manulife Mortgage Protection Plan (MPP) team. Having come from a financial advisor role previously, joining the MPP team four years ago was an exciting opportunity and she welcomed the challenge. Being an advisor with an insurance focus was a byproduct of her personal life and since then she has strived to make the insurance conversation as comfortable as possible for everyone involved. With her over 10 years of experience in the financial sector, she embraces using real estate to create wealth on a personal level. Realizing that for Canadians, home ownership can be one of their largest purchases, she is an advocate for protecting those interests. Christa's focus with her clients (brokers and agents) is to extend her experience and knowledge as a previous business owner, not just an insurance person. ese relationships matter to Christa and she values the opinions of her peers. At the end of the day, business is business, and Christa's No. 1 priority is her six-year-old son Madsen. Christa's CMBA Vision Statement "Having spent a couple of years volunteering for the Events Committee, I have gained a whole new perspective on IMBA/CMBA than I had coming in the door. My original goal was to be helpful and a resource to the team. As time has gone on, my goal has not changed, but it has grown. I am about creating brand awareness for Mortgage Brokers (MB), which relates to my own personal experience 15 years ago when by fluke I found out what a mortgage broker did. e profession was described to me by a client as 'ey shop for you and you don't have to pay' (For anyone who knows me, I hate shopping, unless it's the grocery store). at was 15 years ago; what concerns me is the amount of people who still don't know what an MB is and the value they bring. I am all about the Canadian consumer knowing they have options and there is someone amazing out there who can assist. With my position at MPP and the fact that half of the Ontario brokers are my clients, I will certainly use that to our advantage in spreading the word." Announcements
