Meet Edie Thome,
AME's New President
and CEO
E
die Thome is AME's new president and CEO,
ešective June 19, 2017. Edie brings a wealth
of experience in government relations,
permitting and public ašairs, as well as working
with stakeholders, First Nations, elected ošicials
and landowners on projects in the resource sector.
Edie comes to AME
from BC Hydro where,
most recently, she was
director – environment,
permitting and
compliance, Aboriginal
relations and public
ašairs, responsible for
the Site C Clean Energy
Project. Through her
work, she is familiar
with advocacy ešorts at both the provincial and
federal levels. In addition, having served as chair of
the Board of the Canadian Hydropower Association
for over three years, she understands how to
advance the interests of an industry association.
"I am thrilled to be joining AME's team of staš and
volunteers, and to build on the incredible legacy left
by Gavin Dirom," says Thome. "I am impressed by the
high level of participation in AME's committees and
Board, and the support for Roundup and associated
events, and believe this is a real strength for the
Association. My goal is to meet with as many of you
as possible to gain a full understanding of what is
of greatest importance to our advocacy ešorts. As
AME will be developing a new strategic plan later this
year, I urge each of you to reflect on the key areas
of interest to the industry and to contact me or a
Board member to provide your advice and input."
