VancouVer Gala SoarS to new HeiGHtS! Last year's Vancouver Gala Dinner & auction flew higher than ever before, raising an unprecedented $275,000. Credit is due to our many donors, volunteers and generous attendees, in particular Goldcorp, who stepped up as lead sponsor for the seventh year running with a $50,000 donation. Finest at Sea, F.a.S. Seafood Producers provided all that delectable seafood, while Helijet, langara island lodge, Bridgeview Marine, nimmo Bay wilderness resort, Duncanby lodge and rocky Mountaineer all supported the most successful live auction to date by donating unique items and experiences for bidders. StreaM By StreaM The Community Salmon Program is the heart of the Pacific Salmon Foundation's activities supporting community groups who volunteer in streams. Since its inception in 1989, the Program has grown from issuing five grants to about 150 per year. timberwest was one of the first corporate supporters of the Program, and has offered up more than $1 million in cumulative donations to date. "TimberWest has had a long and successful partnership with the Pacific Salmon Foundation," says Jeff Zweig, president and CEO of the company. "In fact, over the course of our 15-year partnership, the Foundation has been instrumental in restoring hundreds of streams on Vancouver Island. We are proud of our continued partnership, and the Foundation's unceasing commitment and dedication to science, habitat restoration and community education. Here's to many more years of success."
