Rempel says of the costly renovation, "It was important, so that people in the future would have an idea what a farm looked like up on the hill." Construction on site began in November of 2013, with Metro-Can Construction building one level of underground parking for the first two buildings; terracing to the east ensured there would be no erosion issues. The first phase of homes was completed in May of 2015, and the final phase of the project finished on time and on budget in July of 2016. Rempel praises Metro-Can Construction for staying on schedule "despite the fact they had to perform twice the amount of earthwork compared to other projects, due to the sloping topography." Now that The Ridge at Bose Farms is completely sold out, Rempel is able to view the project with a certain amount of objectivity. "We've developed a lot of land in the immediate vicinity over the years, and it is safe to say that the Ridge was the most challenging," he says. "However, we're extremely happy with the outcome: it's the best of country living and modern housing. Plus, in 50 years' time, people will be able to say, 'that's where the Bose farm was, and that's what the original barn looked like.'" A LOCATION 16390 64th Avenue, Surrey, B.C.
