DECEMBER 2016 | 47 Sinks Creative looks and styles provide you with more sink options than ever before by LAURIE JONES P recision design and leading technology for sinks brings new flavours and more choices for designers and contractors. One of Bradley Corporation's newest multi-user lavatories – Verge LVS- Series Lavatory – embodies such elements. "Bradley is always rethinking and innovating its sink designs and materials," says Kris Alderson, senior marketing manager. "Our goal is to promote a high design esthetic while ensuring the fixtures are easy to use, install, clean and maintain. We just added Verge LVS-Series to our line of Verge Lavatory Systems. All Verge models are characterized by an elongated, streamlined and organic design that instantly elevate restroom esthetics." While the basin's flowing seamless contours and linear open concept design allow for easy cleaning and maintenance, Verge's individual drains promote a per- sonal hand washing experience. All Verge Lavatory Systems are made of Bradley's durable, sustainable and mouldable Evero Natural Quartz surface. "Evero fuses the elegance of quartz, the luminance of exotic materials and the eco-friendliness of a bio-based resin," says Alderson. "Evero is easier to clean and maintain than granite, marble or laminates, and is highly durable and eco-friendly." Alderson also highlights Bradley's Express ELX-Series as a fresh and contempo- rary alternative to china sinks and laminate counter tops. "Express ELX is another multi-user fixture known for its smooth contoured easy-to-clean styling and built- in personal hand washing space." Made of Bradley's Terreon Solid Surface material, Express ELX offers superior durability and is easy to maintain and repair. Kohler, known for leading edge design in kitchen and bath products, is pleased to introduce The Artist Editions collection. "At Kohler, dedication to art, design and crafts- manship is an essential part of our philosophy and The Artist Editions collection cap- tures this beautifully," says Donna Church, marketing and communications manager. "The Briolette sink is inspired by the precisely cut surfaces of precious stone and is a work of art in its own right, making it the perfect centrepiece in any bathroom," says Church. "From the same collection, the Derring sink celebrates the beauty of studio pottery and handcrafted ceramics. Each sink is one-of-a-kind, comes in a variety of colours and is finished with an artisanal glaze that produces captivat- ing surface effects." For customers looking to add more functionality in the kitchen, the Prolific sink frees up counter space and is designed to help users speed easily though tasks. It comes with five accessories: a bamboo cutting board; a colander; and a bin and two drying racks that fit perfectly into its tiered levels for comfort at any height. Made from Kohler's Neoroc material, the Cairn sink is designed with durability in mind and built to withstand any day-to-day cleaning task. "The composite material resists scratches, stains and fading, and with its soft French curves, it offers transi- tional style to suit any kitchen design from contemporary to traditional," says Church. Franke Kindred Canada's newest sink, the Chef Center, transforms the traditional kitchen sink into a hub for entertaining, with a streamlined multi-purpose work- space, smart features, anti-microbial treatment on bins and accessories. Available in 30-inch and 36-inch sizes, the Chef Center features versatile compartments for composting or storage, and an array of custom accessories packed with the sink. No Limits "The Chef Center is handcrafted from premium 18-gauge stainless steel, it is fully undercoated, and thoughtfully designed and engineered in Switzerland," says Charlotte Sprague, marketing supervisor. "Its wide basin easily accommodates large pots and pans, and the sink reveal allows placement of accessories on the sink ledge, for multi-purpose tasks. The integrated sink ledge affords placement of the grid at a higher level for expanded work space." Chef Center storage bins include an anti-microbial finish ideal for both compos- iting and food presentation. The large, removable compost bin connects the main sink drain to keep odours to a minimum. "The intelligent design carries through from sink to accessories," says Sprague. "You can slice, dice and chop on the cutting board, arrange hors d'oeuvres on the glass board, rinse pasta in the colander, and air dry dishes on the roller mat and bottom grid. All of these options are included, and they are all dishwasher safe." The Decorum Wall-Hung Sink by American Standard, launched in May 2016, is the perfect balance between style and function. Made with durable vitreous china, the Decorum sink includes American Standard's innovative EverClean surface that helps fight off grime, keeping surfaces cleaner for longer. It is both ADA (American with Disabilities Act) and TAS (Texas Architectural Standards) compliant and can be used for both residential and commercial application. "The Decorum sink is a great option for a more luxurious commercial space that is looking to move into a more design savvy direction," says Chris Hanson, American Standard chinaware product manager. "This sink was made with the idea that commercial spaces are now starting to resemble residential bathrooms with an increased focus on high-end design. This is not always possible with the typical commercial sink and that is why we created the Decorum." With its multiple faucet configuration options, the decorum can be incorporated into a multitude of designs. "In a residential space, the Decorum sink provides a clean minimalist look that also helps save space in a small washroom," Hanson says. "It is the perfect sink for the design enthusiast no matter the application." Blanco Ikon reimagines the apron-front sink in a design-forward, durable mate- rial. "The sink area is often the hardest working space in the kitchen, and apron front – also known as farmhouse – sinks experience even more contact than traditional undermounts," says Edyta Drutis, Blanco's senior marketing manager. "However, homeowners love the matchless style of the apron front design. Now, there is a dura- ble, beautiful alternative to the ceramic, stainless steel, or copper materials that are most commonly used for apron front sinks." Drutis says Blanco is pleased to introduce the world's first apron front sink made of the natural granite composite Silgranit material. "The Blanco Ikon will not scratch or stain and will maintain its beauty for many years, and is both extremely hard- wearing and exceptionally easy to clean." The Blanco Ikon collection will come in three popular Silgranit colours: Anthracite, Café and White. With its slightly angled apron design, the Blanco Ikon adds an architectural element to any kitchen. For increased functionality, there is also a unique, optional floating sink grid available, designed to handle the weight of pots and pans, while gently floating along the inner sink walls.
