Beginners and intermediates stick to the friendly terrain of Vance Creek, on the front side of the hill. Experts head for the steeps of Putnam Creek on the back side. In between, geographically and difficulty-wise, are Attridge and Silver Woods. Side trip: Between Golden and Revelstoke, the Rogers Pass Discovery Centre is part museum and part info booth on the area's abundant snow and avalanches – housed in a replica of a historic railway snow shed (a structure created for avalanche protection).
