OCTOBER 2016 | 37 Faucets builder sales representative at Masco Canada. "The collection also features a luxurious pendant raincan showerhead with H 2 Okinetic Technology." For added convenience, single-handle and ves- sel faucets are equipped with optional Touch 2 O.xt Technology. The entire faucet serves as a sensor with this technology, allowing water flow to be turned on and off with a simple touch to the faucet's spout, hub or handle. Additional technology for the Zura line includes Diamond Seal Technology which combines a durable Diamond Valve with InnoFlex PEX waterways. To meet the demands of discerning homeown- ers, Robinson Lighting & Bath Centre has added the Sync Kitchen Faucet from Dornbracht to its line of designer-oriented products. The Sync embodies many details consumers want in today's modern kitchen – a sleek, streamlined design without the bulky spray head found on many pull-down faucets. Instead, the heat-insulated spout of the Sync continues to the pull- down spray head. A light touch is all that's needed to toggle the spray between the standard laminar and a rinsing jet. The height of the faucet allows users to fit the tallest pot beneath it with ease, while the entire faucet will swivel a full 360 degrees. With a single-hole faucet drilling and many differ- ent positions for the faucet itself, the Sync fits into any sink placement, including corners, D-bowls, prep sinks, or professional grade triple sinks. When selecting a new bathroom faucet it is easy to get caught up solely in the appearance, but it is equally important to consider the entire design, paying par- ticular attention to quality and performance, says Doug Sproule, COO for Fluid Faucets. "Everyone wants a beautiful faucet that complements the décor, but if it doesn't function well or withstand long-term use it is simply not a good choice. It is shocking to see how so many manufacturers have downgraded quality to meet lower price points. Sometimes only their retail brand is affected, sometimes entire lines. Plastic is substituted for solid brass, pop ups are sometimes 50 percent brass and 50 percent plastic, and cartridges are not as well made as the time tested European made ceramic cartridges." How can a layperson tell the difference? "First off, make sure to pick it up," Sproule explains. "Does it feel heavy and strong, or lightweight and fragile? You want solid lead-free brass, time tested high-end car- tridges and solid supply lines at a minimum. We are so obsessive about the entire design process at Fluid because what is inside is just as important as what is outside."
