Bill Temple, mechanical engineering manager at Williams Engineering Canada, says the LEED Silver requirements at St. Mary included 11 out of 19 energy points, which is 42 per cent better than the national energy code: "We are required to provide an energy simulation as part of our scope of work to meet the government's mandate." St. Mary's original school is slated for demolition in the summer of 2016.
