A llow me to introduce myself. I'm Shom, BCAA's new President and CEO. I'm new, but not really, as I served on BCAA's board of directors for six years. That's where my deep connection to this organization started. Now it carries on, with this exciting opportunity to help steer BCAA as we continue to meet your needs. I have been a business leader for a few decades and have a wide range of international and marketing leadership experience – but you can read about all of that on the website. I'm not here to talk about me, but to focus on you, our Members. As I start on this adventure, I have two priorities – Members and employees – and I see them as intrinsically intertwined. The passion our employees feel for BCAA, and the alignment they have with our values, naturally translates into the care that you, our Members, feel each and every time we help you. Our world is changing, and so is BCAA. Our Road Assist team, the vehicle-whisperers who get you on your way when your car breaks down, are always there for you. At the same time, we are evolving to offer so much more. We're working to expand our Auto Service Centre network across the province. Our insurance products and expertise are some of the best out there, and we are regularly adding new savings partners, and other ways you can save and enjoy special privileges you can only get as a BCAA Member. Our business is also evolving with the needs of new generations. For example, younger Vancouverites aren't big on vehicle ownership but still want to be mobile. BCAA's Evo Car Share is one way we offer something for everyone, whether or not they own a car. I'm proud to say it's working: in just one year, Evo Members drove the equivalent of more than 70 times around the globe. This year we hit two milestones: BCAA's 110th birthday and Evo's first. What a fantastic place to be! BCAA is an organization with both heritage and a bright future. My challenge as CEO is to balance everything we do, so we can help all British Columbians – one out of four of whom is already a Member. This means investing in long-trusted core services, and new ones, so we continue to meet the needs of long-term, loyal customers, as well as those who have recently joined us. My job is also to ensure BCAA is making a difference in communities, protecting kids on the road and at play, and giving you a way to be part of this, too. So, if you are a long-standing Member, you have my deepest gratitude for your loyalty and patronage. You are the foundation of our organization and we never forget that. If you are a recent Member who is giving us a test drive, we promise to work tirelessly to prove you are part of a club that brings you value. I believe we have a bright future together. Thank you for your Membership. Shom Sen President & CEO Welcome New BCAA President and CEO Shom Sen your BCAA SUMMER 2016 BCA A .COM 7
