The rivers were lower than normal, so hikers could sometimes skip using the cable cars installed at larger waterways for crossing. Hiking in the cooler confines of the rainforest, above the beach, was a highlight for Fehrmann – several times they spotted whales blowing spray in the distance. He adds he'd happily hike the trail again. Would he do anything differently next time?
