Intertek Coquitlam, B.C., has expanded its testing capabilities to now include a dynamic wind uplift chamber to provide the North American roofing industry with state-of-the-art wind testing services for low slope roofing systems. The Coquitlam facility will be one of only two laboratories in Canada accredited to conduct dynamic uplift testing to CSA A123.21. This standard is required for the majority of commercial roofing assemblies in Canada including adhesive applied mem- brane roofing, manually attached roofing and partially attached (hybrid) roofing. "The expansion into dynamic uplift testing is a very exciting opportunity for the Coquitlam lab," says Simon Knight, Intertek products manager, Canada. "This new chamber enhances our capabilities and service offerings, allowing us to deliver com- plete solutions to our clients." Compliance with CSA A123.21 shows that a roofing product has demonstrated its efficiency in weathering adverse wind conditions via performance testing to the standard.
