The Pacific Salmon
endowment Fund Society
was created in 2001 by the
Government of Canada
to manage a $30-million
endowment fund for Pacific
salmon conservation.
Since then, the fund has
partnered with the Pacific
Salmon Foundation to
help restore and conserve
salmon populations in British
Columbia and the Yukon.
Thanks to the Society's
support, the Foundation
can allocate 90 per cent of
donations directly to grants,
restoration work and science-
driven conservation projects.
That's because support from
the Society's endowment
fund covers most of the
Foundation's capacity and
core costs.
The Society has also
become a partner in the
Foundation's research and
restoration efforts in the Strait
of Georgia through the Salish
Sea Marine Survival Project
through a total pledge of $1.9
million. The Society is proud
to continue supporting this
landmark initiative in 2016.
