Following media reports that donors could pay $10,000 to meet privately with Premier Christy Clark, in April BC Liberal MLAs defeated an nDP motion to debate a ban on corporate and union donations to provincial political parties. Ontario Premier Kathleen Wynne had recently vowed to ban corporate and union donations.
