SFU's Surrey campus executive director Stephen dooley addresses students and faculty gathered at the Surrey campus to kick off SFU's 50th Anniversary celebration. 10. SFU vice-president of advancement and alumni engagement, Cathy daminato, with architect geoffrey Massey who, with Arthur Erickson, designed the SFU campus. 11. during SFU's sold-out run of the Western Canadian premiere of 887 at goldcorp Centre for the Arts, theatre star Robert Lepage hosted a talkback for SFU's School for Contemporary Arts stu- dents. the talk was moderated by Michael Boucher, director of SFU Woodward's Cultural programs & partnerships. Students were given a tour of the state-of-the-art theatre set by Lepage's award- winning company Ex Machina. 12. SFU 50th Anniversary associate project director, Adam Brayford, stands at the site selected for the installment of haida artist Bill Reid's Black Eagle Canoe, a gift to SFU from the Bill Reid gallery. 13. the Sept. 9 anniversary celebration ended with a bang as more than 2,000 guests witnessed a light show and fire- works atop Burnaby Mountain. 14. Vp of research Joy Johnson stands in front of the gordon Smith Mosaic Mural that inspired the artwork for the 50th Anniver- sary campus décor and banner campaign.
