SFU.CA sUMMeR 2016 49 FORMING ART Students in the School for the Contem- porary Arts express their creativity at SFU's Visual Art Studio at 611 Alexander Street. The Visual Arts program encourages stu- dents to envision their own artistic practice while exploring a wide variety of media. RESEARCH IN ACTION The Locomotion Lab, directed by SFU professor Max Donelan, conducts experiments to understand the neural control of human locomotion. In studies by post-doctoral fellow Jeremy Wong, a microcom- puter, hi-performance GPS, accelerometers and custom exoskeletons are integrated into a portable laboratory that allows researchers to measure gait in the real world.
