THE
DREAM
TEAM
Lauren and David's vision for a pastel-hued
wedding in the heart of B.C. wine country
came to life at Painted Rock Estate Winery.
The outdoor ceremony was full of rustic
elements like wine barrels and antique tables.
"We got around that by working with sev-
eral different hotels and using [vacation-rental
site] VRBO for those who wanted to stay a lit-
tle longer," says David. "We also had a wedding
website, which was a great way to convey infor-
mation to everyone."
On the morning of August 8, while David
took his and Lauren's dog, Zeke, for a run and,
later, presented his groomsmen with matching
Seiko wristwatches, the bride began to get
ready for her walk down the aisle. Once hair
and makeup were done, Lauren slipped into
her stunning Watters Olina gown – a lacey,
form-fitting mermaid silhouette boasting
beaded embroidery and a sweep train – and
prepared to say her "I dos."
"My makeup artist told me to do math
equations in my mind, to try and keep from
crying," she laughs. "So, as I was walking
toward David, seeing him for the first time
that day, I was actually repeating, 'One plus
one is two, two plus two is four,' in my head!"
David, for his part, could only think how
beautiful Lauren looked as he said his vows.
Once the ceremony had wrapped and the first
kiss was exchanged, the newlyweds trekked off
with photographer Kevin Trowbridge to take
advantage of the stunning locale while their
guests enjoyed a selection of Painted Rock vin-
tages, a cigar bar and delicious bites by Joy
Road Catering, followed by dinner, dessert and
dancing under a white tent.
"Looking back, it was perfect," Lauren says.
"I love that the ceremony itself was short and
sweet, because it gave us so much more time to
spend celebrating with our family and friends,
and working with a terrific venue, photographer,
wedding planner, caterer and decorator truly
meant we could just relax and enjoy the
experience."
ough David fully agrees, he says there is one
thing he would change: "If I could, I would've
made time go slower. It all seemed to go by in the
blink of an eye."
