These three words perfectly embody Calgary-based inte- rior design firm MartensGroup's approach to every project. "Since MartensGroup began, we have remained true to our vision; to consis- tently deliver creative interior design solutions that enhance our client's strate- gic goals, support their unique culture and reinforce their principles and values," explains Sharon Martens, principal and owner. In 1990 Martens recognized a need for an interior design consulting firm that would not only listen to and involve its client in every step of the process, but one that would help develop design solutions that could meet any and every unique design requirement, no matter how challenging. Having grown up in a family whose hardworking philosophy and dedication to customer service remained at the core of what drove them in their family-owned construction business, it was inevitable that Martens would follow in her parents' footsteps. And so, when it came time for Martens to start her own venture, she approached it with the same gusto. "I have always been fully engaged, committed and enjoy my career, and subsequently founded a firm that has become a platform for continual growth and an opportunity for creative expression, collaboration and high-quality service," she says. Martens and her associates set about building a team of highly talented interior designers who understood that being part of the client's team was integral to the design evolution. "The philosophy was simple; to respect each client's needs, vision and resources, and remain committed to involving the client in a meaningful way in the creation of their new interior environment," adds Martens.
