First nations
With eight linguistic groups,
the Yukon's 14 First Nations are
diverse and culturally rich. Learn
more about the people, their heritage
and the ongoing practises of these
original peoples. There are six
cultural centres in the area. Start
with the ones in Whitehorse, Haines

There's about 29 hours of driving
time from Vancouver to the
Yukon's capital of Whitehorse.
With a population of 27,500,
Whitehorse has restaurants,
hotels and shopping. add
another seven hours to Dawson
city. although all the roads are
plowed and maintained, some
gas stations may be closed due
to the cold weather conditions.
