A 10,000-square-foot structure, constructed by Phoenix Tent & Event Rentals in Rajen's parents' backyard in Richmond, served as the venue for Rajen and Chantel's non-traditional ceremony and reception. "Because of our mixed religious backgrounds, we wanted to have our ceremony in a neutral setting – one that embraced our diverse family and friends," Rajen explains. "We wanted an intimate space and a place that we would remember forever, and that's what it was for us. Every time we look at the backyard, we think back to our very special day." Out of the 450 guests in attendance, only seven knew the real reason they were there because Chantel and Rajen had needed their help with logistics and ensuring out-of-town guests could make the trip. Everyone else believed they were gathering for an engagement party at which Rajen would propose to Chantel. After the bride and groom privately revealed to their parents the secret of the day, the remaining unsuspecting guests were stunned when Chantel appeared in her wedding dress to the tune of Elvis Presley's "Can't Help Falling in Love." "Everyone was surprised! It was magical," says Rajen. "We just loved how everything turned out," adds Chantel. rw Chantel and Rajen's wedding was held inside a temporary structure built in the groom's parents' backyard. The cavernous space was elegantly warmed up with rustic wooden touches and plenty of lush florals and greenery.
